About SLL
Our Mission
We want to make linguistics something more people get to try. Our hope is that SLL gives you a deeper appreciation for how languages work, and maybe inspires you to pick up a new language or even create your own.
Our Story
We are a group of linguistics enthusiasts who met through linguistics competitions and events. Together, we decided to create SLL to make linguistics more accessible to secondary, JC, poly, and other pre-university students across Singapore. Among us, we have Linguistics Olympiad medallists, and even some who have represented Singapore on the international stage. We hope that SLL can be a stepping stone for future students to discover their aptitudes, challenge themselves by competing in official Olympiads, and realise their potential.

Hi! Alex here. I'm from Hong Kong and haven't been to Singapore for 10+ years now. When I'm not cramming for my exams, you'll (hopefully not) catch me slacking off by working on linguistics and/or Cantonese projects! Also an IOL alumnus.

Hellos! I'm a NUSHie who loves seeing what I'm learning appear in the world. When I'm not busy crafting notes, you can catch me exploring, cycling, and bigbacking across Singapore.

Ex NUSHie who kept doing linguistics olympiad 2 years after aging out of the system. Likes writing systems, hates chaos and order problems (doesn't mean he'll never set one tho ;))
