Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Overview

The Singapore Linguistics League infosite does not automatically collect personal data. This site has no user accounts, login forms, or cookies. Personal data may be voluntarily submitted through our SLL 2026 registration, feedback, or bug-report Google Forms.

We use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregated pageviews and site performance. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and uses a daily-resetting hash to count unique visitors — no persistent identifiers are stored and no personal data leaves your browser. No consent banner is required.

Registration

The SLL 2026 registration form collects the submitting team member's recorded email, the team name, team members' names, their schools or institutions and institutional email addresses, Discord contact information, and registration acknowledgements.

We use this data only to administer SLL 2026: registration, eligibility checks, onboarding, competition communications, team management, operating the competition, and necessary follow-up. We do not use it for unrelated marketing or future-event announcements.

Identifiable registration information is accessible only to authorised SLL organisers and service providers needed to operate registration. Google hosts the form and responses. Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Registration data is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed for competition administration or legal purposes.

To request access to or correction of submitted personal data, withdraw consent for its use, or request its deletion, email contact@sglinguisticsleague.org. We will explain any practical effect of withdrawing consent when we handle the request.

Feedback and Bug Reports

The bug-report and feedback links on this site — in the footer, on the interactive map, on the “page not found” page, and in the Contact section — open one of two Google Forms. Both are hosted by Google, not on this site.

The bug-report form automatically receives the address of the page you opened it from, your browser window size, and your browser's user-agent string. These are technical details used to reproduce the problem you are reporting. The form asks whether you are willing to be contacted for more information; if you answer yes, an email address is required and is used only to follow up on your report. If you answer no, no contact details are collected.

The feedback form receives only what you type. It does not collect the page address or any technical details, and it has no separate contact field — submissions are anonymous unless you choose to include contact details in your message.

If you choose to provide contact details, we use them solely to respond to your report or feedback. We do not use them for marketing and do not share them with third parties. Submissions are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted unless needed for an ongoing issue.

Google LLC acts as a data processor for these submissions and stores form responses on Google's infrastructure. Their handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data you have submitted by emailing us at the address below.

Third-Party Services

When you use the interactive linguistic map, your browser loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). These requests are made directly from your browser to OpenFreeMap's servers and are subject to their privacy practices. Page visits are measured by Vercel Analytics as described above; their handling is governed by the Vercel Privacy Policy. When you open the registration, feedback, or bug-report form, your browser navigates to Google Forms as described above.

Fonts

All fonts used on this site are self-hosted. No requests are made to external font services such as Google Fonts at page load time.
